Humility

Pride is blinding, banishing the vision of vastness possessed by greater souls. Humbleness is the open gate through which the divine flood of Mercy and Power loves to flow into receptive souls. - Paramahansa Yogananda, SRF Lessons

Humility comes from realizing that Gog is the Doer, not you. When you see that, how can you be proud of any accomplishment? Think constantly that whatever work you are performing is being done by the Lord through you. - Paramahansa Yogananda, "Self-Realization Magazine"

The greatest man is he who considers himself to be the least, as Jesus taught. A real leader is one who first learned obedience to others, who never puts himself on a pedestal. Those who want flattery don't deserve our admiration, but he who serves us has a right to our love. Isn't God the servant of His children, and does He ask for praise? No, He is too great to be moved by it. - Paramahansa Yogananda, " Saying of Paramahansa Yogananda"

If your work in life is humble, do not apologize for it. Be proud because you are fulfilling the duty given you by the Father. He needs you in your particular place; all people cannot play the same role. So long as you work to please God all cosmic force will harmoniously assist you. - Paramahansa Yogananda "The Law of Success"

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, for the devotee may feel vain and self-satisfied, ceasing to seek the profundities of the Divine. Only he who is free from the sense of self-importance becomes more and more spiritual until he is one with God. A humble devotee is lacking in venity and pettiness. - Paramahansa Yogananda, "Self-Realization Magazine"

Humbleness is the manifestation of an understanding heart, and set an example of greatness for others to follow. - Paramahansa Yogananda, SRF Lessons

The rains of God's mercy cannot gather on mountaintops of pride, but flow easily into valleys of humbleness. - Paramahansa Yogananda, " Saying of Paramahansa Yogananda"
