Healing

I shall recognize all disease as the result of my transgressions against health laws and I shall try to undo the evil by right eating, by less eating, by fasting, by more exercise, and by right thinking. - Paramahansa Yogananda, "Metaphysical Meditations"

The body is a treacherous friend. Give it its due no more, Pain and pleasure are transitory; endure all dualities with calmness trying at the same time to remove yourself beyond their power. Imagination is the door through which disease as well as healing enters. Disbelieve in the reality of sickness even when you are ill; an unrecognized visitor will flee. - Swami Sri Yukteswar, in ""Autobiography of a Yogi"

Discrimination

Remember that finding God will mean the funeral of all sorrows. - Swami Sri Yukteswar, in "Autobiography of a Yogi"

Saintliness is not dumbness! Divine percepions are not incapacitating. The active expression of virtue gives rise to the keenest intelligence. - Swami Sri Yukteswar, in "Autobiography of a Yogi"

Attachment is blinding; it lends an imaginary halo of attractiveness to the object of desire. Swami Sri Yukteswar, in "Autobiography of a Yogi"

To those ever attached to Me, worshiping Me with love, I impart that discriminative wisdom (Buddhi Yoga) by which they attain Me . - Bhagavan Krishna, in the "Bhagavad-Gita"

Sri Yukteswar Birthday

Today is the birthday of the great Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri, Guru of Paramahansa Yogananda and paramguru of all SRF devotees. He is a great incarnation of pure wisdom and we bow to this enlightened soul and pray that even a little of His wisdom may come to open our minds and hearts. This is a great day to start with new resolution our most admirable desires.

"To keep company with the Guru is not only to be in His physical presence (as this is sometimes impossible), but mainly means to keep Him in our hearts and to be one with Him in principle and to attune ourselves with Him" - Swami Sri Yukteswar, "The Holy Science"
